Research Growing at Cave Hill Campus

While it is best known from its academic programmes, the Cave Hill campus is quickly earning a reputation for impactful and wide-ranging research agenda.

This specialised area of scholarly pursuit, for which the Caribbean is still lagging, has informed policy development by some regional and international agencies.

On Tuesday, the Cave Hill campus honoured those who have conducted outstanding research during the closing ceremony for Research Week.

The Faculty/Institute awards went to: Dr. Isabelle Constant, Humanities & Education; Professor Alina Kaczorowska-Ireland, Law; Dr. Alok Kumar, Medical Sciences, Dr. Peter Chami, Science & Technologyand Dr. Philmore Alleyne, Social Sciences.

The Faculty of Law:University Rights Advocacy Project and the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), with its Youth are the Future Study were jointed awarded Best Applied Research.

Recognition for the Most Internationally Successful Research went to Dr Prosper Bangwayo-Skeete of the Faculty of Social Sciences with her project,‘Can Google Data Improvethe Forecasting Performance of Tourist Arrivals?’

Rounding off the winners was the Faculty of Law: The Caribbean Law Institute Centre - Improved Access to Justice Project (IMPACT), which won the award for researchers or research teams which won significant funding.
