History of the Clifton Dupigny Community College - Dominica

The Clifton Dupigny Community College was established in 1980 by an amalgamation of the Technical College (originally established in 1972) and the Sixth Form College. These institutions became the Technical Division and the Academic Division respectively of the new institution and their amalgamation was the first phase of the Implementation of Government’s policy of concentrating all tertiary level education in one institution. The School of Nursing and the Teachers’ College will be included in this process of development of the College as the national centre for tertiary level education and training.

Vocational and Technical training programmes offered by the College are conducted in the Technical Division and are of two years duration in most cases.

The academic year consists of three terms as follows:-
