Nelson Mandela Day

For 67 years of his life, the late Nelson Mandela fought for the rights of humanity.

In 2008, following his 90th birthday celebrations, it was decided that a day be dedicated to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela’s sacrifices and his selfless work to humanity. July 18th was declared Nelson Mandela Day.

The objective of the Nelson Mandela Day campaign is a call to action for persons all over the world to do what they can to help change the world for the better creating “a global movement for good”.

The campaign message is that since Mr. Mandela gave 67 years of his life fighting for the rights of humanity, everyone can give 67 minutes of their time, to support a meaningful charity or serving their local communities.
