UNESP offers 45 Free Courses

For Release Upon Receipt - Wednesday, May 28, 2014

UNESP offers 45 free international courses in four different areas

In August 2013, UNESP started a new project - International Courses at UNESP (ICU) which is offering 45 courses taught in English in four different program areas: Agriculture, Alternative Energy, Dentistry and Literature & Linguistics — specific areas where UNESP has a high level of scientific competence.

This is a message to invite you to enroll in one (or many) of these courses that will be offered during the next academic year (2014-2105).

The following link contains more information regarding the ICU: http://www.unesp.br/international-courses <http://www.unesp.br/portal#%21/arex/novo8425/courses-in-english/presentation/international-courses-at-unesp/>

There, you may access more information about the different ICU courses, including the professors responsible, the length of each course, and the campus in which it will be offered.

Candidature must be done exclusively online at:

http://propgdb2.unesp.br/internacionalizacao/cdi/inscription.php

After accessing the link above, students will need to create a login (using your e-mail address) and a password to begin the application. Then, students will need to fill out their personal information, language skills, professional experience, and home institution information, as well as select the courses that they are interested in.

(Note: Students need to check for courses periods in order not to postulate for concomitant ones.)

After filling out their information, students will need to attach three required documents: a copy of a passport or personal ID, a transcript of records, and proof of funding or personal financial resources. Having meet these requirements, students must be sure to “save and submit” the application.

Since UNESP is a public university, the entire program is set to offer academic credits free of charge. The ICU has full recognition of credits and each program will be arranged according to the ECTS guidelines (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). Because of this, students will have the great advantage of taking ECTS based courses abroad while only being responsible for their living expenses in Brazil.

The ICU project is an effort by UNESP in order to promote international diversity in the classroom and participation of international students in our university programs. This is the first time a Brazilian higher education institution offers Master’s programs in English.

ICU will accept Undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students along with individuals that have an undergraduate degree, without institutional affiliation. Deadline for applications is June 13th.
